Persons with Disabilities climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – the roof of Africa
Action for Persons with Disability (APD) invites individuals from around the world to join us in supporting and participating in an extraordinary event: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa! This December 2025, we’ll be promoting tourism rights and inclusion as we commemorate the 64th anniversary of Tanganyika’s independence.
Join us for Twenzetu Kileleni Season 5, where persons with disabilities and individuals from public and private institutions will come together to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and take the Tanzanian national flag to Uhuru Peak.
We’re proud to partner with ZARA Tanzania Adventures, a renowned tour operator that provided exceptional services to 15 persons with disabilities during last year’s climb. Their expertise and care, made the experience truly unforgettable.
This initiative aligns with the Government of Tanzania’s efforts and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) to promote tourism, inclusion, and leisure for persons with disabilities.
Can't join us this year? Don't worry! Mark your calendars for 2026 and get ready to join the team!
We value your support and invite you to get involved. Learn more from adventurers – persons with disabilities and how you can contribute:
